Profile

Geneviève Langelier is Director, Talent and Professional Development.

As such, Geneviève oversees the development and rollout of training, career development, performance evaluation and tutoring programs, and the recruitment of professionals for the entire Lavery network. She supports the Chief, Talent and Professional Development, in rolling out talent strategies and works with the heads of practice and office managers in providing one-on-one coaching for professionals.

Geneviève also runs the firm's equity, diversity and inclusion activities, including chairing the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She is also actively involved in implementing initiatives for improving the well-being, engagement and retention of professionals.

Geneviève made her foray in the legal world in 2013, first as a law student, then as an articling student at a major international law firm, followed by a stint as a lawyer for nearly five years at one of the largest boutique litigation firms in Montréal. Throughout that time, she has gained a thorough understanding and knowledge of the realities of the legal profession in private practice.

Geneviève also held the position of Director of Talent and Business Development at that same law firm before joining Lavery. She was then responsible for managing the law firm's talent and human resources, marketing and internal and external communication, events, in addition to overseeing the development and rollout of the well-being program and leading the work of the environment and social engagement committees.
