Partner
Jean Saint-Onge practices in the areas of litigation and insurance law. He contributes to maintaining the firm's strong presence in the fields of class actions, product liability, competition law and environmental law. In addition, he is the chief agent in Quebec for a number of foreign insurance companies.
In particular, Mr. Saint-Onge has defended many companies and public bodies in major class action lawsuits instituted in Quebec and, in some instances, on a national scale. He has also represented clients in numerous cross-border class actions, more specifically in the areas of consumer law and product liability.
Mr. Saint-Onge is regularly invited to speak at conferences on insurance law and class actions. He organizes and leads the Quebec Bar's annual professional development symposium on "Class Actions - Recent Developments in Quebec, Canada and the United States".
Mr. Saint-Onge is recognized as among the best practitioners in the field of class actions in the 2010 directory Best Lawyers in Canada. Mr. Saint-Onge is also named as a cross-border litigation specialist in the 2008 U.S. Guide to the Leading Cross-border Litigation Lawyers in Canada published by Lexpert®. He is also listed in The Canadian Legal LEXPERT® Directory in the fields of Litigation – Class Actions and Litigation – Commercial Insurance.
