BIOGRAPHY

Partner
A graduate of University of Ottawa in political science and law, Jean-François Hotte has worked exclusively in labour and administrative law since 1981. In the first 10 years, he was an active lawyer in numerous landmark files and a partner in a very reputable law office acting solely on behalf of major unions in Québec. He joined Lavery as a partner in 1990 and offered his unique knowledge and strong experience to its clients to help plan, resolve, or litigate very strategic situations in a cost effective and sound labour relations manner.

Mr. Hotte represents major companies in numerous fields of business. He is well-known and respected by unions, arbitrators, labour boards and courts. Conducting result-oriented and delicate negotiations or otherwise defending company interests in challenging and complex labour situations continues to be his main practice.

Mr. Hotte is listed as ‘repeatedly recommended’ in The Canadian Legal LEXPERT® Directory 2011 in the field of Employment and Labour Law and as a ‘highly recommended’ in PLC-Which Lawyer?®. The 2012 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada directory recognizes Mr. Hotte as one of the best lawyers in Labour and Employment Law.

From 2000 to 2009, he was an active member of Lavery’s Board of Directors and a strong contributor to several important committees and to the firm’s management.
